Default Sirius Display

Just got my 2008 Prius preloaded with Sirius. I'm brand new here so sorry if this has been covered already. Any way to change the 10 character limit on the display?

they probably gave you the older part, u would have to remove it and get a newer solution and then transfer the subscription over to the new serial number

Right. The factory unit is limited to 10 characters, period. The TOY-SIR1/SCC1 combo will do 16.

So, the Sirius unit that was factory installed won't go anymore than 10 characters, but we have to buy something else to get it to happen? That seems odd...

odd but true. the factory allowes you to go to preset stations with the steering wheel while the one with 16 characters only walks up the stations one at a time so to go to 75 from 6 takes awhile. have the best of both would be nice but not possible at this time

Probably quicker to use the presets on the MFD.

The factory unit is a "gen I" version of the Sirius receiver. The SCC1 tuner is more of a "gen II" version.
