Since, from previous posts, one cannot be sure if the ICE is running when monitoring the MFD. Where could I tap off a voltage (preferably 12VDC) and run a wire to the driving area to show that the ICE is running?

Can View (or scan gauge) shows not only when it is running but also when it is spinning and not running. But someone here did post about making a light that senses a tach signal with a one shot IC. Maybe just on the old site now, but you might be able to find it.
