a followup: was able to "repair' the scratch today by airbrush and matched up color...the airbrush worked wonders on the dash...not only did it get the scratch but it covered some anomolies that were present in the dash in the first place...with this type of texture and color becoming more prevailent, and more problems with care being seen,(scratches, dirt, overall wear and tear, i ought to go into business for myself ...btw...toyota was of absolutely no help in interior colors for the prius...they claim that toyota doesnt make interior touch up colors...um, thats funny, i was able to find the colors on line with no problem...additionally, on the subject of parts...they also claim toyota doesnt make mud guards(flaps) available either, which is baloney, they are in Canada, which im pending delivery as we speak...

I have two "stains" on my dash from my window heat shield. It was an old shield with a silver vinyl type finish. As best I can tell it melted (I am in Texas) one day and stained a couple of ridges on the dash along the cutout for the display.

I've tried various scrubbing methods, but it really seems to be deep in the brown (beige/brown interior) dash surface.

Where did you get your color match paint from?
