I really don't see why there are so many posters complaining about everything the car doesn't have. I guess they can spend $50K on a Lexus that gets 20 MPG if they want more bells and whistles, but for the price point, gas mileage, and other environmental benefits (which are important to me), I am very happy.

BTW, when go 55-60MPH, do you feel like you are only going about 30 MPH? It is soooo quiet!
yes very quiet, and the steering is waaaaay better than my wife's 06 camry, which feels like driving a boat. i drove the camry than the prius back to back and the difference is marked.

That was a long drive. I thought the salesperson was gonna meet you half way.

she offered to, several times, and i am sure she would have if it made sense for me, but since i "went greyhound" (because my wife couldn't get me even halfway (it was a friday - terrible for traffic and the kids all had stuff)), it made no sense to prematurely get out of a bus that went into her town. So she met me at the bus stop, all gassed up.

Oh God, I forgot about the traffic on a Friday going there since the Bay Bridge is involved. That is one of the reason I decided not to deal with that dealership. I am not a happy camper when i comes to the Bay Bridge traffic, and I'd have to get my wife to make the drive too.

You get the award for taking a greyhound bus to the get your new car. Now that is pure dedication!!

i have only used that bridge now 2 times in my life, so not an expert, but I am told saturday am is the killer, not friday pm so much. I crossed it at 6:15 pm on a Friday and i noted that there is a bus and maybe HOV special lane, so even if it was backed up (and it turned out it wasn't) the bus option would have circumvented a lot of it. I think later in the summer maybe Friday night gets bad too.

i had some other non-bus options but they were both on vaca when my car came in.

The buses looked new - and i observed that everybody has a cell phone and young adults in their 20s can't sit still for two hours on a bus - they have to be talking to someone on the cell phone, even when they have absolutely nothing to say. Gazing out of a bus window is a lost art.
