Navigation Disk Update

Next stupid question, I have an 08 Prius with the nav, I found the DVD under the driver seat I even see the button that says push to eject the DVD but for some reason nothing happens when I push the button. I have tried with the car on, off and in ACC. So what is the trick to ejecting the DVD?

The car has to be "ON" (Ready or Ignition On). The button is pushed and slid to the left (towards the driver's door). This opens a dust door over the ejection slot. Push the button again for a couple of seconds and the disc pops out. Put the new disc in and push the button and slide it to the right to close the door over the slot. Now you can put the snap-on cover back on.

Not sure if this has been asked. In the 7.1 DVD for Gen 5 (06-08), what's in the service menu? Looking to see if the Override feature made a come back....

Thanks for your post. My local Toyota parts department seems clueless about the upgrade. I have a 2005 Prius and still version 4.2, so I was waiting for this one. Just to be clear, it will work on a 2005 Prius and it is just a matter of popping in the new DVD in the Nav unit. No special programming required? Also what hours are you there to call and give you ordering information?

True, compared to what the stealerships charge $220 is a lower price. I wouldn't call it a decent price though. Stealership pricing is always an inflated gouging of customers!

Toyota has now released version 07.1 for all navigation generations. The suggested retail price of $250.00 has carried over. As in previous years I offer a discount to all PC members. I actually spoke with you a few weeks ago concerning Sirius satellite radio installation. I am from Florida. My question relates to the navigation system in the '08 Prius. I have not received my car yet. Touring, with pkg 6 and of course Sirius and a few other things. I have seen on the internet a website with a whole lot of unsatisfied and it seems legitimate customer's complaints about the Nav system. Is it THAT unreliable as to finding your destination and the issue about not being able to make data entry changes "on the fly" is a huge disappointment for most. The very disturbing thing that is troubling me is the severely unreliable information it displays as far as getting to your desired location/address. That website is: http://www.toyotaoverride.com/. as much as I hate to say it, I am seriously considering canceling my order for the car entirely.

I have a 2005 with NAV...Current version is 4.2
I have the ultimate lockpick from Coastal.

Let's be honest. This isn't up to the highest standards. Not a disaster, but... I use TeleNav on my PDA/Phone, and it has better POI and finds quicker routes. Where I live, the Prius often announces "I can't give you voice directions for part of the route." My PDA always can. The Prius seems to assume that you can drive about 20 MPH on non-freeways. Has a major issue with secondary roads, even when they are lots shorter.

On the other hand, the maps are extremely beautiful and usable. The turn diagrams are great. Maps are often more accurate than my PDA. I often run both on longer trips so that I have a point of comparison. That's my $0.02.
