Default Technical question

I know that in normal operation, the Prius is not in full hybrid operation until certain requirements have been met:

The engine is fully warmed up;

AND

The car has come to a stop for 10 seconds OR it has exceeded a certain speed (somewhere around 40 mph???)

With these conditions met, the computer is in Phase III (or IV) operation.

My question is, with the EV switch installed, must the computer be in this Phase III (IV) condition for EV mode to be engaged with the switch? Or is it sufficient that the engine be fully warmed up?

To put it another way, can pressing the button be a substitute for the second criterium? That is:

The car has come to a stop for 10 seconds OR it has exceeded a certain speed OR you engage the switch?

Primary car: 100% Electric 2003 Porsche 911 Carrera. Estimated range at 55 mph: 81 miles total or 64 miles to 80% discharge. Top speed 70 mph.

Secondary car: Zap Xebra SD, also 100% electric. 1.9 cents per mile. Range: 40 miles total, or 32 miles to 80% discharge. Top speed 35 mph. Faster downhill. Both EVs use electrons generated from water power.

Gas guzzler for when I have to travel farther than 60 miles: 2004 Prius.

The criteria for stage III must be met before the EV mode will engage. You cannot engage EV via the button in stage II.
