You see, he created the FrankenPrius from two halves of two damaged Prii in order to create a 6-seater with decent fuel economy.

... After being accused of being a bad Photoshop job on the PriusChat forums, it's revealed that Toyota's flagship hybrid makes an excellent candidate for a wheelbase extension due to it's arched roof, which better spreads force across the vehicle than the flat roofs of traditional Limos like Hummer's H2 and the Lincoln Town Car. The builder also notes that there's potential for greater reclamation of kinetic energy through regenerative braking due to the added weight.

It's cool to finally see a picture that doesn't resemble a photoshop job. While I believed the person who originally posted the pictures, that led to a long chain of posts and debates, but the pictures didn't look all that original. But this is a good, clear picture. Thanks!.

http://www.hybridlimo.com/fleet.htm claims to have a stretch and says pictures are coming soon, they're still not up tho.

I just received a Google alert on this article:

Prius + Prius = 6-Seat Prius Limo?

If the builder said this, then the builder is somewhat of an idiot.

If "reclaiming" the energy were the goal, then this is great! But surprise... takes more energy to get that extra mass moving than you'll get back, of course. I think I'd rather *save* the energy than attempt to reclaim a small percentage of it. :sigh:

OK. I'm now thoroughly convinced.

BTW, it's interesting (to me) how fluidly Canadian English and French get merged. True Parisiennes would probably cringe at this:

Yet completing that sentence in French is shorter than saying "making of"
