Friends: 0 | [font=Comic Sans MS:3f4d596b03][/font:3f4d596b03] I am 6' 5" tall and just purchased a 05 Prius. I just barely fit into the driver's seat with my right knee up next to the gear shit knob. Has anyone been successful in extending the seat rails to be able to move the seat back a few inches? There is plenty of leg room behind for passengers. |

Friends: 0 | I am having the exact same problem. Is there any solution to fitting a person 6'5" and above in the driver's seat? |

Friends: 0 | I am really curious if there is a way to make the seat go back any further, such as a modification to the rails. I love my new '08 Prius, but the only thing I am not satisfied with, is the driver legroom. Especially since my commute is an 1:15 to work and 1:30 on the way home. I feel quite cramped. |

Friends: 0 | I love it when people say this "the Search button above is your friend". I searched for "Prius seat extensions" and found a lot. I knew they were there after reading some of them in the past. |

I think the short of it is that you can either modify the seat so it's higher or modify the track so it's further back. nyprius seemed to have the best advice -- go to a handicap car retrofitter, as they are the most experienced for modifying car seats. Friends: 1 | It seems to me that it would be fairly easy for a DIY seat rail extension or raising using statndard steel L-shaped rails available from Home Depot. Just over engineer it enough that you can feel comfortable skipping the 50 MPH crash test. |

Friends: 0 | I have engineered and manufactured seat extenders for GEN II Prius's. As a proud owner of an 2007 and 6"5 tall I have made 4" stainless stell extenders that make this car a luxury now. Please send me an email if you are interested in purchasing a set of the extenders. I can send you photos and specs. I am trying to have the Prius Shop obtain these but until they do I will sell them offline. Please send me an email griffincogorno@mac.com |

Friends: 0 | Hey folks, This must be in my opinion one of the most pleasurable mods to date. I have always been accused of driving the recliner but the prius wouldn't allow it. Now with my new rail extenders it's like a new car. I have two of these priu'i and luv to sit in the one without the mod to remind me of how it was so cramped. These are quality made brackets and took all of 20 minutes to install. |
