I'm pretty sure this is what you need. It looks like the site I went to before and it should have IPA information. Hope you cand find what your need form this site. [edit] found it on the left under subscriptions. you can go as little as €3 for an hour. What ever that is in US. I'm too lazy to got do the conversion. I have the same issue at work, but I've made myself an USB stick with portable applications and this solved my problem. ![]() Use Mozilla FF, leave that damn IE, it's a real crap. IE is good to use only with complex ActiveX controlls, complex scripts and when some MS .NET builded sites don't work in Mozilla.

Friends: 5 | For accessories, press Repair => Accessory Installation Manuals and you'll find this list: Audio LHD 08601-00932 Installation Manual Audio RHD 08601-00932 Installation Manual Conversion Kit N1 TDK 24/08/2007 PZ449-G3E30-00 Installation Manual Front Fog Lamp Kit LHD PZ457-G0512-00 Installation Manual Front Fog Lamp Kit RHD PZ457-G0513-00 Installation Manual I-pod interface adapter LHD and RHD PZ473-00261-*0 Installation Manual Kayak Holder PZ4AF-SN860-00 Installation Manual Luxury Platform PZ4AF-SF835-00 Installation Manual Platform PZ4AF-AT932-00 Installation Manual Ski Holder PZ4AF-MK815-00 Installation Manual Ski Holder PZ4AF-ZM083-00 Installation Manual SWC Bluetooth Hands Free System LHD PZ409-00293-00 Installation Manual TPA 400 PZ464-T0421-00 Installation Manual Probably the rest of the service manuals and installation things require subscription. IPA it's not an accessory (so you'll not find it here), it's basically a part of the Prius electronics controlling systems.

Friends: 0 | US versions of 2004-2009 Prius came with everything required for EV mode except the switch and the wire to the ECU. IPA may be similar, or it may be different software. We didn't get either EV or IPA for our versions. There are at least 2 different MFDs, low resolution and high. As far as I know, all 2006+ Prius in the US have the high resolution MFD, along with the appropriate camera. I don't know if IPA requires the high resolution system or not. When was IPA introduced? The first thing I'd look for is a wiring diagram that shows the IPA switch. If the wire goes to a pin that is unused on your car, I'd try adding a pin like the EV mods. The electric motor that drives the steering system is simply the power steering system. You already have it. I doubt that the radio is involved with IPA. The MFD just communicates with the radio for control purposes, but it doesn't implement any video or use any of the buttons on the MFD. Interesting project. I'd like to have IPA as well. |

Friends: 5 | My dear friends, I've found all the details needed to install Intelligent Parking Assist on my car. It seems that I will need the below components: Camera: - you can find one very easy in a salvage yard 1x Camera: 8679047020 (130-300USD) 2x Grommet Screw: 9018906227 2x Screw w/washer YN91: 9015960500 Parking Assist ECU: 1x Wire, Parking Assist: 8679747020 1x Computer, Parking Assist ECU: 8679247050 (80-150USD) 3x Bolt: 9011908826 2x Clip: 9046705112C0 1x Cover, Audio Rack, Back Guide Monitor: 8618347020 Height Control Sensor + assy: 1x Sensor sub-assy, Height Control: 90980-11860 (below 50USD) 2x Bolt, Flange: 91671A0614 2x Direct J890: 9017906178 1x Bracket, sensor connecting, rear, back guide: 4896647010 IPA Switch: 1x IPA Switch (I21): 90980-12550 (below 20USD) Connectors: 1x Junction connector (J20): 90980-11661 1x JUnction connector (J24): 90980-10803 ?? 1x Connector (I19): 90980-12169 1x COnnector (I20): 90980-10997 1x Connector (I22): 90980-12593 1x Connector (123): 90980-12596 Those are the components that any Toyota dealer will put in your car, in case that you want to install this Intelligent Parking Assist. You can do a DIY IPA with ease, just to have time and knowledge the height sensor. That is the most difficult part and it requires intervention below the car. I'll buy in next month the components, I've found them and they cost less than 300USD. Why not to have an option on your car which cost minimum 2500USD with only 300? ![]() Here are what each part involved in the Intelligent Parking System does: Television Camera Mounted on the back door to transmit the rear view of the vehicle to the intelligent parking assist ECU. It's a color video camera that uses a CCD (Charge Coupled Device) and a wide-angle lens. Intelligent Parking Assist ECU: Receives vehicle condition signals from various ECUs, makes guidelines based on calculations, combines the guidelines with video from the back monitor camera, and outputs the video with guidelines to the multi-display. Also, control signals are output to each ECU and the intelligent parking assist system's various controls are performed. Multi-display: Receives video signals containing a composite of the rear view of the vehicle and the parking assist guideline signals from the intelligent parking assist ECU, and displays them on the display panel. Navigation ECU: -Uses the yaw rate detected by the gyro sensor that is built into the navigation ECU to transmit the movement of the vehicle to the intelligent parking assist ECU. -Transmits the status of the language settings, which is selected by the language selector of the navigation screen display, to the intelligent parking assist ECU. Steering Angle Sensor: Detects the angle of the steering wheel and sends the resulting signals to the intelligent parking assist ECU through CAN communication. Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU: -Transmits the shift position signal received from the park/neutral position switch to the intelligent parking assist ECU, via the CAN communication. Park/Neutral Position Switch: Transmits a received shift position signal to the hybrid vehicle control ECU. Skid Control ECU: Sends stop switch, parking switch, vehicle speed, driving distance, and other vehicle condition signals to the intelligent parking assist ECU. Also receives intelligent parking assist failure signals and buzzer activation signals, and sounds the buzzer. Power Steering ECU Sends EPS failure, intervention steering, and other related vehicle condition signals to the intelligent parking assist ECU. Also, based on intelligent parking assist control signals and steering-related signals, performs steering control. Intelligent Parking Assist Main Switch Turns the intelligent parking assist system on and off when pressed. Also, informs driver of system on/off status (system on: indicator illuminated; system off: indicator off), and system operation status. Rear Height Control Sensor Sends changes in vehicle height to the intelligent parking assist ECU. Front Speaker (Driver side) Receives audio signals from the intelligent parking assist ECU, and outputs voice guidance according to the mode. Good luck, I'll keep you in touch regarding my progresses! -Power Steering ECU -Power Steering motor -Steering Angle Sensor (am I right, is.. or isn't?) -Torque sensor -Skid Control ECU Last edited by mandrei83; 06-28-2009 at 07:02 AM. |

For example, in Europe (France, Germany) only SOL package comes with navigation, but on Executive (full version package) cannot be mounted commercially. I'm not sure if it is a IPA package separately, without buying SOL package+navigation.. Anyway, for Prius owners who want to do themselves the conversion, this is how to do it.. Buy those parts from Toyota and install them in an authorized service. The most difficult thing is the installation of height sensor (found only in cars which have HID, so no longer have to buy one) and to calibrate the IPA parking ECU.I'm still waiting for a quotation from my Toyota dealer, to see how much they cost the components. Probably I will cancel this operation, if I will not find a bargain IPA ECU on a Prius salvage on eBay. Last edited by mandrei83; 06-30-2009 at 06:35 AM.
