Default USB & iPod Interface Kit--Must Be Soon

The Toyota Europe site has (in its free access section) the installation instructions and owner's manual for the USB & iPod interface kit.

The date of the owner's manual is 12/1/08, and the installation instructions is 6/15/09, so hopefully we're on track for the September availability.

And it will be located in the center armrest console (replacing the aux input).

Docs attached below.

Warning, These instructions did not match my USB kit from Toyota. The dealer tried to find a set that would work but only found the installation instructions for the IPOD interface which is another part altogether. If I find the right instructions I'll post a link here.

The USB / iPod connector that's sold in the U.S. is not the same as the one sold in Europe (the 2 docs I posted above are for the Europe version).

The install instructions for the U.S. kit are available on TIS., and the owners manual was posted by cpatch here:
USB and Safety Connect Are Almost Here!

I just called Toyota about this and was told that on my
"older model Prius" (2010, August 13 purchase), the kit will disable the satellite radio. So If I install the kit, I will lose use of the
satellite radio. On the "newer cars" (September, 2010), both features will work.
What do others think of this??
Thanks.

There is a new kit available now that will not disable the satelite. The link that stream posted has the part# of the one that does not disable the SAT.

thanks so much. that was really frustrating to hear! how come Toyota does not know these things???
Where in NJ are you buying your car? I bought mine in NJ too.
Ask for free oil changes.
I am told some dealers are giving it for the first year. Let me know how you do on this!!! I got only the first oil change free.

I am buying mine at Parkway Toyota, I haven't heard anything about free oil changes.

Some Toyota dealers don't know much about the Prius. It can be frustrating. The salesman i am working with knows all about priuschat so he's a bit more knowledgeable than other dealers I spoke to during my search.
