I bought my Black Package III with Nav two days before the WA State Tax Holiday came to an end for:

MSRP: $25500
Est License Fees: $151.75
Deal Doc Fees: $150

Car total: $25801.75

I also bought the Toyota 7 year transferable extended warranty for $1496+$142.12 in tax. I don't know if this is any kind of good deal or now. I guess we can check in 2016.

So $27489.87 total

There might be some lower than MSRP deals available in WA now, but when I was looking, this was the best I could find. It seemed like there were virtually no cars available, and this one was offered to me at MSRP, and the other (a Grey package IV - which is really what I wanted,) was well over $30k by the time the dealer had added paint protection/dealer fees/etc. I just can't stand that kind of practice, so I passed. One other car was offered to me at 9:20pm on the 31st, but I was out of town and had already bought mine by then. It was a Package V, and I never got a price because I didn't return the phone call.

Keep in mind that there is no point in shelling out for the extended warranty until expiration of the 36/36 OEM warranty is in sight.

Very good point. And that is what upset me with my dealership. They said that I could only buy the warranty if I purchased it the day I purchased the car. I don't like the sales pitch of, "Today only."

I got the same sales pitch. They did say I could cancel and get it all back within 30 days if I wanted.

I'll have to do a little forum searching, but I wonder if there is a difference between the Toyota warranty and a third party contract. I also wonder what others are paying for the same Toyota warranty vs. third party. Off to search!

Might be time for some post sale negotiating!

I would also recommend Clyde even though I did not buy anything from him. He's the only salesman I spoke to who followed up on every email/phone call.

I got the extended warranty and I am wondering if I should cancel it. According to my paperwork I can cancel it within 60 days.

I cancelled mine. I would rather wait and see what happens... I have three years to decide. Just have to watch if the policy price will be increasing in that time.
