I'm going to use colors to illustrate my explanation:

The file is a pdf file ... therefore, the file name will ALWAYS INCLUDE .pdf at the end. Using what you typed above, the correct file name at that time (it has since changed) was pc_OM_0721.pdf

Your mistake was that you were missing the last part of the existing URL.

The existing URL is not just http://techno-fandom.org/ as you had typed.

Rather, you missed the last part that reads ~hobbit/cars/TIS/10/

So, the existing URL in full reads:

http://techno-fandom.org/~hobbit/cars/TIS/10/

And the new URL you created should have read like this:

http://techno-fandom.org/~hobbit/cars/TIS/10/pc_OM_0721.pdf

So go back to Post #20 and try again using the existing URL in full and adding the new correct file name (hobbit changes the file name from time to time as he said he would do in Post #19).

Much easier than playing "hide the sausage" with the file all the time. I believe that if the link is followed by other sites it will still not be indexed because the spider will hit the robots.txt file before it descends the files' path.

I don't understand the technical stuff in your question (hobbit will have to answer).

But to answer the part of your question I think I understand, the file is located on another site (techno-fandom ...) and not on PriusChat.
