My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | There is one caveat to this procedure. No one can sit in the passenger seat while attempting to complete this task. A funny story: This weekend my wife and I decided to turn off the beeper. We like to support each other and do things together. So I would touch the buttons from the driver's seat while she read the directions to me from the passenger's seat. Each time we tried to turn off the beeper "b-on" would never appear. We tried it at least 6 times. Then she got out of the car to do something else and the directions worked perfect. Except I didn't know how to change the setting - she was reading the directions and left. I got all excited and called her back to show her that it worked. She sat in the seat and it didn't work. I tried a couple of more times and then realized - it might not work when someone is sitting in the passenger seat. Sure enough, when she got up it worked again. Howie |

I can't believe that Toyota would make a simple procedure so complex, especially in a car equipped with four computers and an LCD screen. |

We were then able to disable the annoying beeping!! She was sitting in the passenger's seat when we disabled the beeper. |

We couldn't seem to get it done together, but when Brian went to his car to do it alone, it worked in his. I then moved from the passenger seat to the driver's seat, and of course it then worked. In the cars we were trying it in, the passenger seat needed to be unoccupied. |

(She was sitting in the passenger seat, I in the driver's seat.) For kicks and out of desperation, we fastened our setabelts and then performed the sequence and voila, it worked. I honestly don't know whether she had the emergency brake engaged or not. |

My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | I'm renting a Prius this weekend (Know Thy Obsession). Besides being an education for myself, it's the first time my partner has had a chance to ride in a Prius. Last evening, I was about to back into a parking space; I turned to her and said, "You're not going to like this." And then, of course, BEEP-BEEP-BEEP. I parked, and she looked at me and said, "Can you turn this off?" I replied to the affirmative, at which point she said, "Good -- 'cause that noise would drive me crazy when I get one of these!" ...It's a very addictive car.
