Houston Meet Up - 8/29/09 11:00 AM

Hey you all!

We are having a Houston meet and greet this Saturday, Aug. 29th, at 11:00 AM, at the Beck's Prime in Memorial Park - 1001 E. Memorial Loop, Houston, TX. quantumslip, Xman Live, and I will all be there with our Gen 3 Model Vs, and Dan (of hypermiler fame) has promised to show up with some scan guages and either his 2007 Prius or Mercury Mariner hybrid. Come say hello, kick some tires, pump Dan for hypermiling tips, and maybe even go for a spin.

All priuschatters, hybrid owners and hypermilers are welcome to join us, and Dan will also be flash mobbing his Houston Hybrid & Hypermilers Club.
The more people, models and colors that show up, the better!

Word of warning, the parking lot right by Beck's may be full of golfers, so you may need to park in one of the other lots (by the ball fields) and walk over. When we go out to kick tires, we'll pick a lot to converge on.

I forgot to add, quantumslip has the new USB interface installed in his car, so anyone with an ipod or iphone can plug it in and see how it works.

okay this Moderatoor pulled my plug from the Main 2010 discsion thread. Not very cool at all. I know to have seprate thread under club area, but agree that we could get a litte more visibilty by at least putting a post on main thread.

Okay moderator pulled plug for Houston meet-up from the Main 2010 discussion thread. Not happy, not very cool at all. I know to have separate thread under club area, but agree that we could get a little more visibility by at least putting a post on main thread. I would have put some updates each day to bring it to the front of form, once event past I would have let it die in the history of new Q&A… Many people are new due to Toyota Pg3 and do not know how to did around to get to some club thread. This was a knee jerk response that was not needed. Give me a break… oh my listed twice… with link pointing to main thread wow. I am so impressed.

I don't get it, I closed it and you had a link back to this forum to continue the discussion. This way all the discussion takes place in one thread instead of all over the place. Was all the info in the above post necessary? You could have just contacted me via a pm and we could have talked about why I closed it and my thoughts of having all the discussion take place in one central thread. I also was unaware of how posts were let go in the past, as at that time I was not a moderator here.

There was no 'intent to harm' by closing the thread, from a personal perspective I found it made more sense for all the discussion to take place here. I also see your position on bumping it to the front each day...

Anyways, the thread is now open again but I would ask next time a problem such as this could be solved with a simple pm and some discussion.

Hi Xman - you may have have missed it, but I had already posted crosslinks in both the Gen 3 Main forum and the Gen 2 Main forum. I think it's fine if those threads and yours are locked, so long as the cross links still work and the posts aren't totally deleted. I do agree with you that the separate events forum is probably a bit of an invisible ghetto, since a lot of people may limit themselves to looking at just a few main forums.

Agree, could have been resolved using PM, this is a two way street. I have agreed to let it go and just have fun... Thanks for your support.
