We would have spent a lot more on a '10 to get what we got in the '09. I'm lucky to be the primary driver - I let my husband use it occasionally on weekends - lol. We gave our '95 Accord to my niece when we got the Prius. We've always wanted one; my niece really needed wheels, and the time just seemed right. Now everyone's happy.

I know about the 2010 fever. LOL We had to get out of a gas guzzling '06 pathfinder. The deal for our '09 was equivalent to a new 2010 base- give or take some $. so it was a pretty hard to pass deal. I said, i just was told it was an 08 we compared it too. Either way $5k extra for everything vs not much and more miles. not a tough call LOL. Now if i can get my wife out of it, so i can drive it!!! haha

I do love my '09. I would have gone for silver - actually, I probably would have taken any '09 Touring package 6 they had. We happened to get the Spectra Blue, which is beautiful but difficult to keep clean. The silver is easier, but my husband didn't really want another silver car. Also, it would have been exactly the same as our best friends' '07. It would have been difficult to tell them apart at gatherings!
Sounds like you got the better bargain - an '09 Touring package 6 for only $5K more than an '07 model 2!
With all the posts here about the 2010, I am having GenIII envy, though. I'm glad we didn't wait, but when it comes time to replace our other car...

how's your 09 going? we looked at an 07 for what would have turned out $5k or so less. And it was a model 2. I dig it. I am not much on the color (silver) but the paint is amazing. I swear it almost glows it is so reflective- mirror like. Still grey was at the top of the list. oh well, if i ever need to re-paint it... LOL
