I'm getting my 2006 Prius this week. I want to test all functions at the dealer before I accept the car. I have one question; what does the "Mode" button on the steering wheel do? Do I use this button to toggle between the Energy and Consumption screens?

The mode button selects between FM FM2 AM SAT CD and AUX.....the "info" button on the right hand side of the steering wheel is what allows you to toggle between Energy and Consumption screens.

Have fun with your new car!!! dont forget to play with the Voice command button , it will let you select your audio, air conditioner setting among many other features.

The MODE button will also turn the radio On (if off) and Off (hold the button for a second or so).

Aaah. Thanks for clearing it up. I remember test driving the car and going:

"Mode...Mode...Mode...Mode...Damn I can't get into the Energy Screen!"

I had a carefull look at the following picture. I found the info button. Thanks

Thank you - I had no idea you could turn the radio off with the mode button.

Pressing and holding "up" or "down" changes the CD (if you have a CD Changer). Just pressing it once changes track/station.

Ditto. It helps to know you have to hold it down awhile.
