Recently, in about the last week, more and more dealers are starting to advertise MSRP or less and others that are asking way over MSRP seem to be relisting the same Prius's over and over....that is they're not selling at the marked up price. Could be my imagination. |

My guess is since gas prices have levelled off a little the past couple weeks and even eased slightly, people are second guessing whether or not they're going to continue their rapid climb upward and are debating the neccesity of buying a Prius NOW. |

Hmmm....you know...I think I can live with this disappointment...I've still got my Prius. Whoever "they" is can keep their nasty $30K, unless of course they just want to give it to me. | |

This may be a short term breather in the gas prices falling below $4.00 a gallon. The shock has settled for the time being but most people with gas guzzlers still feel the burn in the pocket book. The Prius will remain a best seller for a long time.It may be less scarce in the future and that will be better for all of us. Look at the cars in its competition, small cars getting 10-15 MPG's less than the Prius... And hopefully, people will buy the smaller less expensive cars. This will also be an improvement in changing the SUV mentality.

It is distinctly bimodal; SUVs and 'success sedans' for some, and the cheapest small things on 4 (or 3!) wheels for others. Ironically China-built Prius does not impress buyers in the first group, and is priced too high for the others. I have only seem 3 Prius in Kunming a city of 3 million. No real knowledge on India but I suppose they have the same 2 groups of buyers. |
