I went out and got #10 spring clips and screw for the end of the rear mud flap...took the wheel off only to find that the clip does not work at that end of the flap...how did you attach the screw, using a nut? Details please. Thanks.

Sorry, this won't answer your question because even though I went out and bought that "extra screw", after reading some postings and seeing pics that it looked like it would need it, I did not use it. The rear mud guards went on so perfectly, "snug as a bug", it required no additional screws.

I didn't use any additional screws on my install either. They have been on for many months now and I have not had one problem.

The screws and clips provided did the job perfectly.
The rear mudflaps attach to the rear bumper don't they?

No, not even close to the rear bumper.

As I stated before, I chose not to use an additional screw and mine are very secure without it.

Perhaps you could have told me what you rear mudflap attaches to if not the rear bumper?

I find the mudflaps are quite secure as the clips provided clamp over the rear bumper front lip and the screws pass through the front edge of the bumper.

If you back into or over a high curb the mudflaps will tear off regardless of how secure they are, just if you make them more secure they may damage something in the process.
