Default Wheelskins Steering Wheel Cover

I just got a two-toned perforated leather steering wheel cover from Wheelskins. Gray on the top and bottom and black on the sides. It takes a while to put it on as you have to sew it onto the steering wheel. But ... it looks great!!! And, it feels so much better than the OEM steering wheel. I highly recommend it. Expect to spend at least an hour putting it on.

Cool Re: Wheelskins Steering Wheel Cover

So, take a picture! I agree, it really improves the steering wheel. I drove a friend's Prius the other day and the plastic wheel seemed so skinny. I put a burgundy/black Wheelskin in my 2005 since it had the burgundy dash. I went with solid black in my 2008. Did you get the smooth or perforated version?

What is the color of your car's interior? Do you think that the wheelskin would match the other color interior options?

As you can see by the photo, my car is silver. The interior is black and gray so I decided to stay with that combo and ordered a charcoal gray and black combo. I ordered it with the gray on the top and bottom, thinking that the black on the sides wouldn't show dirt as easily. I tend to drive with my hands on the sides. Wheelskins has many colors to choose from. I chose to go conservative.

Do you have any recommendations for covers for a prius with the lighter interior color (I think it's called Bisque or something)? It doesn't have to be two tone. Maybe sand or oak or tan along with black (or no other color at all)?

The factory cover for a bisque interior is black. This will also keep any dirt or oil from your hands showing on the cover. I put a black wheelskin cover on my 07 with a grey interior and it looks very nice,(pictures in another older thread) A two tone may work better where you grip it with your hands is a dark color to prevent stains and any other color you like for an accent. Good luck with your choice.

I think it's a personal preference. But IMO you can go with:

1. All black.

2. Black, w/color to match the Bisque shades of the interior.

3. Black, w/color to match the car's exterior paint color.

I've got the bisque interior and I went with all black because the wheel is all black. Top and bottom are perforated, sides a regular.

My wheel skin cover is medium gray that matches the interior well.

But if I had it to do all over again, I think I might get a solid black one becuase as you can see, the gray dye is not applied very thick. Within a couple of months, I started noticing black scuff marks around the wheel, and have no recolection of anything that could have scraped it other than some jeans at the wort.

Now, the whole outside of the wheel has a black and gray marbled effect in less than a full year.
