Friends: 23 | Nice design to the fake wood but a little too much for my taste. The 06+ Prius dashboard seems to be a better match for wood trim than the 04/05 ones. |

Friends: 1 | Hi, malibujohn, Just out of curiosity, are you will'g to share how much this nice woodgrain dash set you back? I had a local place quote me about $600 (installed) for FAR less woodgrain mat'l than you got. The promotional info insisted it was REAL wood, but the shop let me handle/inspect a piece from one of their kits & I'm certain it was just cheap PLASTIC (with small pieces of double stick tape attached to hold it on). I like the looks of a woodgrained dash, but NOT the cheezy quality of what they showed me. If I remember, there were only 8 or 10 pieces in that kit, which they would sell to me for over $400 if I wanted to put it on myself. Instead, that money was better spent on getting my front end covered with ClearBra to protect my paint job from getting all chipped up. I love the looks of your job & the MANY areas you got covered, but I have a 2005 model with the gray interior (with the smooth-painted burgundy dash) & when I took a few pieces from the kit out to see how it might look if I were to have the kit installed, it just didn't look quite right. So I agree with the previous poster that it doesn't look as good on the '04-'05 (unless maybe in the tan interior'd cars) as it does on the dashes of the 2006 to present models. Thanks for your comments. I bought my kit online through ebay for $131.00 (US). I checked out several suppliers but this one offered the most for the least. I don,t know how to give you a link but if you type 350029302067 in ebay motors it should give you the info. My installation took longer than normal because it was a cold day but I was anxious to do it so I used a hair drier to warm the pieces prior to installation. I get a lot of comments on my "personolized" Prius. Installation took a couple of hours but it was a fun time watching the transformation after each piece was assembled. Friends: 0 | I've got the same kit as you and have been waiting for some warm weather. Well it's suppose to be in the 70's the next couple of days, I'm gone give it a try. I'll show pictures when done. |
