no streets shown on map

the map of the navigator stopped showing smaller streets; only the highways and main roads show up. do i need to reboot the navigator, and if so, how? i tried ejecting the map disk and putting it back to no avail.
do i need to go to the dealer? (i hope not.)

Zoom in. When you zoom out too far, only large streets are shown.

unfortunately, it's not that simple. zooming in merely increases the blank area. it had been working properly until recently.

Have you zoomed in all of the way?

Personally, I would like to see the zoom level and the area being viewed. That way we can work to confirm the issue and identify the solution.

Is it this way everywhere? Perhaps you're in an area that didn't have streets when your DVD was created.
