Noise from Aux Port (06-08)

I noticed that hissing/buzzing/whining sound immediately when I got my '07, 2 years ago. Bought an in-line ground loop/noise filter from Crutchfield Online that cured it instantly. Just my luck, I see now Toyota fixes it for free

This is definitely happening on my 2009.
I went to the dealership and they said that the TSB from 2007 (TSB2810) didn't apply to the 2009 because "the issue has been fixed". Unfortunately I didn't have a charge cable to demonstrate to him so will go back tomorrow (with the cable to demonstrate).
In the mean time I called the toyota customer care line and, actually I was surprised by this, they said "I'm sorry to hear about your issue, the line-noise issue happens with a lot of newer cars" at which point I interrupted and told him I knew about the TSB from the 2007 prius. He said that the 2007 fix HAD been applied to my car - but I heard that this isn't necessarily true - that the 2009 is essentially the same model as the 2007 so would still have this issue unless someone specifically fixed it.
He did take down my information and say they would investigate the issue and see if there's anything they colud do - that they'd call me back. Will post what I hear here.
Can someone with experience on how TSB's work let us all know if what they said is true? That if a TSB (non-safety) existed for a 2007 prius that it would definitely have been applied to a 2009 car? If so who applies it - the dealer or is it done at the factory?

Go on line at ebay and order a 16$ 3.5 mm in line choke. Plug one end into the 1/8 jack in center console, plug Ipod into the output of choke. Problems solved for under 20$.

Paul, why should I pay $20 - and deal with a stupid dongle - for Toyota's mistake?

I was able to get them to do the repair. It took some persistence but it's done. The trick is to call the Toyota Customer Care 800 number and get them to do the convincing for you. Also, they can then file an official 'bug report' or whatever they call them.
