Edmunds is reporting (in a now removed article) that the hybrid concept being announced on Monday in Detroit will be a Scion iQ Hybrid. According to Edmunds' Inside Line, the iQ Hybrid will be released in a five-door hatchback and sedan body style. The hatchback will go on sale in the US first, sometime in 2011.
With a combination 1.5 liter engine and electric motor, the car will produce 100-120 horsepower total. That should lead to about a 60 MPG average. Price? Rumors peg it under $15,000.
It's kind of odd to me that they aren't branding it with the Prius name, but apparently the iQ Hybrid is seen as a last-ditch effort to keep Scion alive. We'll see how it works out.
