This is my 1000th PriusChat post. It seems pretty insignificant when compared to the activity of folks like Evan Fusco (who recently logged his 10,000th!), but it's still cause for a small celebration on this end. Frankly, I had never participated in online forums before PC. I lurked for months before signing on, learning not only about the Prius but also forum decorum.

I've learned an incredible amount from you folks: efficient driving, technical issues, modifications, accessories, and even how to post -- and from some of you, how not to post. ;) I am grateful for the virtual friends I have made here, for the opportunity to meet a few of you in person, and for the PC community as a whole (made all the more valuable by the hard work of Danny and all the moderators).

    Looking forward to thousands more!

PC and PO were the first forum sites I ever jumped into, as well. It
all seemed really worthwhile, even with the perennial browser issues
I run into. And that's coming from a long history of email lists,
which at one time [before usenet, even] were the only way to have
    an interest group.

    Jimbo -

Among the things I've learned while participating in PriusChat is that I don't need to hit the "Reply" button unless I want to point out a specific issue or question that I intend to address in my response. With that said, I've included your entire post, because I agree with it so strongly. And -- because I wish to congratulate you.

I go back to the days of BBS (bulletin board service, if I recall correctly). Today's chat rooms offer so much more. This forum is so much better than other online communities I've seen. Kudos to Danny and to all of the moderators. I've also learned an incredible amount about my Prius by reading the postings. By posting my own questions, though, I've learned a great deal more -- not only about my superb automobile, but also about the great people who give so much of their time to help out us neophytes.

Compared to you and select others, it's two steps forward and three steps backward. ;)

One of these days I will. I think I mentioned to you previously that my sister lives in the area, so seeing her will be an excuse to drive to hang with a fellow Prius owner. Just don't tell her she's the excuse, not the reason. :D
