So it's that time again... Time to consider adding aftermarket seat heat... Does anyone have any current recommendations on a quality product that works well and doesn't affect the feel of the seat? I have a 2013 Persona with Softex and want to make sure the heater doesn't dry, crack, or affect the feel of the seat.

This ISN'T the answer the OP is looking for, so you can ignore it immediately.

But I own a Homedic's vibrating massage with heat. Heat can be turned on separately. It's one of those transportable, separate products. Can be used at "Home, Car or Office".

I'm only plugging it because for relatively cheap...it's amazing. Gives me a heated seat...and if I want back massage.

Has a car adapter and a regular outlet depending on how or where you want to use it.

The only problem is I've had it for about 8 years. Don't know if you could find the exact unit anymore.
I dread the day it finally gives up the ghost.

Actually that first reply is more of what I'm talking about, pads to place under the seat where you wire the switches in... Seems sort of expensive though for the Clazzio, I remember seeing sets for less last year but not sure about the quality.. anyone here have first hand experience with them?

i could of sworn that i responded to this earlier but, Clazzio seat heater kit is the way to go. you can look on ebay for similar products. ive used the $80 ebay seat heater kits and they work fine too. they look very similar to the clazzio kit.

Lol sorry everyone... I should have been clearer in my post.. What I'm looking for are the heating pads you actually install into your seat by removing it from the car, removing the upholstery, and wiring it into the car's electrical system.. I'm not looking for something that sits on top of the seat and plugs into the cigarette lighter.

(And yes, not sure what happened to your post King, but you did reply about Clazzio seats before).. Have you had any issues with them affecting the seats, melting them, etc? Any opinion on the generic vs. Clazzio?

I have used the generic kits on cloth seats for 2 years now, and no problem with anything melting or any type of problem. The clazzio I will be installing in the C with their seat covers. I don't expect there to be a problem. But as far as the kits go, both look practically identical and both generic and clazzio and almost the same exact options. I would advise to go with the generic version because neither company will give you warranty that their heaters will not cause problems.

I installed the generic ones on my TCH. They work great and I love them.

Did you disconnect the battery before disconnecting the airbags or is that step just unnecessary paranoia?

Yes I did but, just to be safe. I almost always disconnect the 12V out of an abundance of caution when I'm making new connections.

Do you disconnect from under the hood or from the back of the car?

I'll probably disconnect it... I've done tons of car audio work but never messed with the seats so if disconnecting the airbag harness could trigger the air bag with the battery connected I'd rather avoid it. Did anyone have any problems with inserting the heater pads on the passenger side considering the occupancy sensor for the airbag?
