I posted a note a few weeks ago about my local paper publishing an article on Prius waits in this area. Tomorrow, they will publish a story that (I think) will talk about the overoptimistic MPG expectations and dangers to rescue workers. I heard the promo they have on the local radio station.

http://www.staronline.com to look for the article. Tomorrow promises to be a busy day, so I will not be able to read / comment on the piece. I will probably write a letter to the editor to give my own data to date: 47.1 mpg in 2929 miles, mostly highway driving, with the A/C on automatic. I would also comment on the AT-PZEV rating, which was a consideration for me. I have saved $131 compared to the fuel consumption I would have had with my older 1995 Ford Escort wagon (standard transmission) that got 34 MPG for the same type of driving.

I don't do anything differently in my driving compared to the Ford, except I do have fun driving in electric mode in the few blocks where I can travel below 40 mph.
