So I was trying to set up entune in my 2012 prius plug in basic model and I was having problems connecting to the interne. I have an Iphone 4s. I called the toyota hotline and they told me I must connect with the USB cord and I can't connect to the internet via bluetooth.

I was surprised at this but the guy did not seem to know what he was talking about. Can anyone confirm?

Secondly- There are menus in the entune for messages and calendar and they are greyed out. Any idea why this is? Can I get text messages or email on my entune?

Fairly certain that I can't connect to the internet via bluetooth. I think I tried it once and could never get it to work. Also, with my 4s, bluetooth runs the battery down so quickly I never thought it would be a good idea anyway ;)

The greyed out options don't work with iOS. I think the calendar works with Android, but I don't think the text messages work with anyone at this point.

Thanks.. One more quick question. Is there a way that when i connect it to the wire the iphone can automatically connect to the internet instead of entune always asking?

I wish there was! It's a pain to have to confirm every time. Maybe somebody else knows how to do it. Plus, half the time I have to restart the entune app on my iphone.

Just the opposite. I got the text messages to work ONCE with my Galaxy S II. But the calendar doesn't work at all.

Just realized I am missing some apps on my entune. I called Toyota and they are sending me a memory stick to update the system. If your are missing the apps call Toyota.. I think the new pip's do not have the update.

Since upgrading my iPhone4s ti IOS6 Entune crashes every time I start it up on the iPhone. This is a Toyota issue - they need to update their app. I called Toyota about that but they had no idea.

So Far Entune is not as bad as I thought it would be. But I did try Pandora today and it sounded horrible. Very flat and tiney I think it may be because it is streaming at a lower bit rate. The regular radio sounds fine in the car.

Do you have the DA? Are you running software 2.1? That fixed the poor sounding Pandora.

This is a setting to stream at a higher bit rate. Click the options button to get to it.

So that was better but it would play half a song and then pause etc.... Oh well.

There are two radios available, the Display Audio and HDD Premium. If you've got the Display Audio, just make sure you have v2.1.0 software installed. As mcmoyer said, there's also that higher quality setting in the app, but if you're in a weaker signal area then you'll experience that buffering / pausing.

Can confirm that you CAN connect via Bluetooth to Prius 6" display. You do need to get the Hotspot service from ATT or your provider and put the Entunes PWD and ID into the Prius display settings.

Toyota will tell you this is not possible.

    Works great.

Strange..I was just in my car and got a call on my cell. For some reason the bluetooth did not sync. So I Stopeed the car and went into the settings menu where i clicked on connect to my iphone. Then for some reason the bluetooth was playing my music without being connected to USB. Something I was told can't work with the 6" radio. Weird.

Bluetooth audio streaming or Entune via Bluetooth (pandora, I heart radio)?

Bluetooth audio streaming from your phone's music app 100% works. You can run Pandora (the ios app) or YouTube on the phone and it will stream via Bluetooth. The actual Entune app still supposedly requires a USB connection.

Not on the 6" nav system. No USB connection required for any Entune's function on the car.
