EVENT :: Hybridfest 2008 (July 19-20th)

My calender is marked. I now have just over 7 months to come up with a reason for my employer to let me off. This will be 3 weeks after I come back from our 1-week summer shut-down.

 

I missed it last year, and all my co-workers know I was not happy about it. I told them I AM going this year, and if I could not get the time off then I would be suddenly very very sick - for a week!

 

Mmmmmh, I don't know, should I go for a third time.......?

 

i hope we can make it... things have changed around here just a little since last summer!

 

A one of a kind type of guy

 

bummer...hoping it would be a bit farther west this time...wasnt it in wisconsin last year?

 

oooohhh...ok...bummer... guess we need a west coast version... we do have the Lacey Alternative Fuel Fair... i guess...

 

No one wanted to come with me last year, but now that hubby has his own Prius he's suddenly eager to attend and learn even more than I 've been teaching him about my Prius. We'll be there! Hope you can make it Galaxee.

 

unfortunately that's the weekend before finals for DH so we won't make it this year.

 

I'm planning to be there. Hopefully with some new stuff. I'm also planning to go to Cedar Point the Wednesday before if anyone wants to meet up there. I hated riding alone last year but the up side is that most of the rides there let singles get to the front of the line. I think I will also plan a day at Kings Island after Hybridfest. I don't know what day yet but if anyone would like to meet there too just let me know. I'm thinking maybe going on Tuesday. I'm a strict coaster rider just to let everyone know.

 

It's my plan to be there, too. And this year I'll be able to bring Fiona. My new knees are working great, so I won't be sitting around knitting so much as last year. I'm trying to talk my HCH-driving physics professor son from NY into joining me this year. Last year there was enough physics going on keep him happy.

 

Tony, I think we will have a chance this year since, IIRC, Gerdes and Jerad(Locutus) and several others are going to be in the Great Race. With those odds, it may make it worth calling in sick to work the day of the mileage competition.

 

Oh, no, there go my chances! I'm hoping to make it again. Just bought a house in October, so cash flow is bit tight. If I go, I'll almost certainly do the same routine as last year: 2+ days for the drive each way with overnights in state park campgrounds, and camp in Madison while I'm there. Wonder if Wayne would mind me pitching a tent in his backyard while he's away globetrotting?

 

He would never know. If you do, I may have to join you as my cash flow is a bit weak too.
