Just picked up my 09 gen2 and I am having problems with the microphone. When on hands free calls I can hear the caller but they can't hear me and when ever I try to use voice commands I just get a response of command not recognised.

Is there some kind of mute enabled on the microphone am I missing something obvious or is it faulty?

Thanks for that. I got into the menus and made the change but hands free is still silent and voice recognition is still not recognising.

    I will post some pictures

Possibly a bad mike or a loose wire. Where did you get the car, from a private sale or from a dealer? If it was a private sale, ask the previous owner if he had a problem or if he removed some accessory that he may have had on the car. If it was purchased from a dealer, take is back as they usually offer some sort of a warranty.

Well the dealer was fairly useless.

    They came back with:
Ignoring the lack of punctuation for a moment they did not come back with anything I didn't already know.

So run over to the parts dept and buy a mic! Or find a friend with a Prius and talk them into letting you swap the mics to test yours! Either way you are gonna have to get your hands on a working mic to test the theory!

Just a final update to say the dealer fixed it. Replacement microphone and labour £220(about $350). Fortunately it was covered under my warranty.
