I was waiting to pull into a parking space tonight, and of course my headlights were on, which meant my Toyota emblem was lit. These two bruisers were slowly getting into their gigantic crew cab F250 and looking my way, and of course I assumed they were thinking derogatory things about my Prius or something *sniff*. They pulled out and stopped next to me, and they had smiles on their faces, and they asked, "Is that an option, or did you put that on?" They thought the glowing emblem was pretty neat and said so. We had a quick discussion and both went away smiling. So I guess the preconception was my fault.

Note that their truck was obviously a work truck, which I totally supported.

Are there many glowing emblems out there? I think they are good PR tools.

All we know is that they liked the lit up Toyota badge. Maybe they didn't even notice that it was on a hybrid... and the car wasn't ugly. :)

I got it from a PC member, but it is basically a mounted 12 volt LED board. You could put one together from an LED bulb site. The emblem needs appropriate mods, however, so you might want to purchase an extra one. I want to do this to some blue Ford ovals as well. It will not work with ATP, however.

I'm worried that I'd get pulled over for having a blue light on my car. Pennsylvania is pretty weird with things like that. But, I'd love to do it! Maybe green...

Do we know if anyone has gotten pulled for the blue/colored LED emblems? I sent mine off to be done in super bright blue, but think I'll have it change to white or be on a switch that can be flipped off.....if I smell trouble.....

....Once out of sight and earshot, The one guy looks at his buddy as says "That was a really cool emblem, I wouldn't mind having one of those for my FJ...too bad it was on a Prius."

Someone needs to do a DIY for those who have already done it. I really don't want to spend a couple hundred bucks for something that can be done fairly cheap and easy by the sounds of it. I have ATP so I need just the rear, but I'm sure front and back will be fairly similar.

I haven't done the rear since it is fairly shallow back there. That would be a good project for me to document. The front can't be done if you have ATP since the radar would be obstructed. Can someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that is what I have read here.

See if Drunkin Master still has the parts if you want to do the front.

You are correct about the ATP which is why I'm just looking to do the rear. I know it can be done, just don't want to spend the insane amounts the companies are charging. I'll check with Drunkin Master and see if he can at least point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Right idea, wrong execution. If you look at them closely you can see the frosted plexi extends out past the emblem. The one I'm asking about is completely behind it. I found the place through a different thread. It's called the LED Place and they are here in LA. $120 which includes another emblem. It's ready to be mounted and wired. Good enough for me and half the price. Thanks anyways.
