    I've always wondered if cats were good for something. And it appears they are! Orange ones, anyway. None of mine were orange, which may account for my not knowing if they were good for anything.

    If it doesn't come down first, Washington State and Canadian residents may still get one more chance to see it. But if my post is more than 45 minutes old, you missed it.

    UARS orbit data
    Washington residents could get view of falling satellite

    Update: I saw nothing. Don't yet know if that meant it was already down, or the seeing conditions here were not good enough.

    Funnt thing.....
    You don't really hear about 'The Ozone Problem' any more.
    I wonder why?

    Twenty years ago, that was goiong to kill us faster than AGW, which is why they placed the UAR satellite into orbit in the first place.

    Oh well......now it's gone.

    Mission Accomplished?

    Those interested in upper-atmosphere ozone might wish to start here

    [ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ozone_depletion]Ozone depletion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

    The UAR satellite measured many things in addition to ozone, until 2005 when funding for earth system science was (seemed to be?) at a low ebb. Then in was 'unplugged'.

    Stopping the massive releases...yes
    Stopping all releases...not quite yet
    Ozone Hole stabilized...measurements indicate this is so, but it is a very hard, noisy measurement, so this is not an absolute answer.
    Ozone Hole in recovery...not quite yet.

    Orange cats tend to be Strong-willed

    ...almost without exception and this one definitely is persistent. :D
