This is in response to a recent assertion by a car salesperson that 90% of Prius owners have PhD's (he was wrong.) I wanted to find out the education level of PriusChat members (a more limited group, of course).

This list is based on a condensed OPM education level assessment.

As a systems analyst, I am fascinated by data. I hope you all decide to play along.

This is just the highest level, and not accumulations. I have 4 of the degrees listed above, but OPM only recognizes the highest level. (I do not represent the government or OPM by any means.)

Rae Vynn: I like your tag line. Too true.

Otherwise it looks like a healthy smattering so far. Part of my interest is that I don't think one's formal education has anything to do with smarts or their rationale for purchasing a Prius. I was curious that the car salesman thought his assertion was somehow a "hook."

Highest complete (formal) education for me would be high school. I dropped out of college after two weeks.

And 21 years later I purchased my PIP with cash :)

I dropped out of college, too. Eventually went back to get my associate's as a stepping stone to getting a bachelor's which I never got around to getting. I also bought by then-brand-new 2006 Prius with cash.
