I think the Japanese earthquake will give a little tsunami... to where I have a boat tied up...

The earthquake off the coast of Japan is now said to be with an underwater landslide...

I think that factor alone with the magnitude indicated is enough of an indicator to have a minor tsunami hit the west coast...

sometime around 5 am... give or take an hour... cause I'm not looking at anything yet other than what I figure off the top of my head... and I am intoxicated...

I will call John to take the boat out of the dock.

Magnitude 7.2 - NEAR THE EAST COAST OF HONSHU, JAPAN

I think they were referring to the Japanese coast, but they could have wrote it better.

Why wait Sis... I can take a little ribbing... :D

Gary said he took the boat out an hour after I called... and put it back in the water after 9am... he said it didn't go up more than two feet above tide...

    It was a good drill...

Wonder if Bob is having the boat taken out of the marina again?
Might have to worry about this one. I am outside of the Tsunami exclusion zone but the road leading in and out of my side of the island is not.

When I originally posted this... I had thought I'd mentioned the 72 hour window of a larger quake event that is possible... I'll blame it on the hooch for my lack of diligence... but I was at home and I didn't have to drive or care for someone...

That hypothesis that was put forth several years back is gathering more collective evidence of a valid predictor of possibilities in larger tectonic events.

Yes it is... I think it will be north of the Bay though... however, that part of the fault is "guarded" by an active (thus fluid) system nearby and has some additional slippage that south of the bay doesn't, so it has imparted a delay of the tectonic release of pressure that the south part of the western fault systems do not have... the geysers...
