For the past few months I have been using my wife's 2006 Prius for my monthly commute to San Francisco from Portland,Oregon.I have been saving $200+ odd per round trip in gas costs from using my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Yesterday we bought her a new 2012 Prius V and I officially inherited the 2006 Prius with close to 100K on the ODO. It is an amazing little car,I am 270 and 6'1" but have plenty of room and find the Prius very comfortable for the long trips. I cruise it on the interstate at around 70+ and smile every time I fill up!
I have been reading the posts on this forum and have found a lot of great information which I would like to thank everyone for contributing.
I still have the Jeep but the Prius is my daily driver for sure.

Welcome to the Priuschat fold. :welcome:
There's always room for one more.

100k? That's nothing compared to somemembers members around here. That car's good for at least double that.

Perfect! Eugene to Redding is such a pretty drive.

Is the K&R Drive In still in business in Rice Hill? Horribly greasy fast food paired with Umpqua ice cream -- can't beat that.

Welcome to Prius Chat. Don't worry about the 100k. miles. I know a lady that uses her 04 for a 200 mi. commute each day. Her 04 had 295k. on it and she never had any trouble with it, only did routine maintaince. She decieded not to buy a new one since her 04 was so trouble free until she hit a deer and demolished the front end. Now she doesn't know whether to get a new one or fix the old one. I suspect she'll wind up buying a new Prius.
