Latest European news on the arrival of the Nissan Leaf, including prices and confirmation that they will not lease the battery.

BBC News - Nissan reveals electric motoring prices

Shouldn't be long before they're on the road.

    Yeah, an exciting time.

Sadly, the Leaf has too short a range to suit me, unless we kept a second car.

I think the Leaf will help shift a lot of Volts/Amperas, when people see the advantage of electric commuting/short runs, but unlimited petrol range.

I think it's quite expensive..€30,000 and that includes Irish Govt incentive of €5,000,that's the same price as a new Prius with Nav,although our main electricity supplier [ESB}said they would install charging points in the homes of the first 2000 customers [Free of charge] who take delivery of a Leaf which will be in Feb 2011
