I replaced the license plate bulbs with LED's and they looked awesome for about 10 weeks until yesterday they were not working WTF........Has anybody experienced a problem with LED's burning out. They should last for a much longer time than the normal bulbs. I have to find the receipt to see what ones I bought......I know they were not cheap..........

Were they SMD (surface mount diode) Led's?

I would like to buy some replacement LED's for my license plate, but it would be great to know which ones are quality. I hope they were under some type of warranty.

I bought some LED tail light bulbs from AutoLumination.com and they lasted a few weeks before they melted and shorted out. I don't know where you got yours from but I would recommend you not shop from those guys.

I believe the ones I bought were SMD, the LEDs seemed to be soldered on top of the PCB.

Nope. Mine are still fine. Those in the parking light area failed. I'm on my second set. The ones that last 3 years prior on the 2005 were off ebay so I expect these (from superbrightleds.com) to last longer.

They won't work. You should've purchased bulbs like this:

Those 4 LEDs you bought will shine right into lightwell and you'll lose most of the light. And 6.99 is a lot to pay for cheapie LEDs. :)

Could you perhaps supply me a link? I've looked and that was the cheapest I could find. They also had 5-led bulbs which I believe were like the picture you provided, but they were $8. I have one out so I want to get it replaced asap, but I didn't want to buy from China and wait 6-8 weeks to get them..

Thanks, my total came to $4.38 for 2 WLED Miniature Wedge Base bulbs, are those the one's?

Also, you have a choice of 90 degree or 120 degree, which would you choose?

    Thanks!

  20. I love the color temperature and amount of light coming from these...but they just burn out too quick, 2 sets in 6 months :(
