MAINTENANCE REQUIRED

    i brought my prius somewhere else to get the tires rotated and the light is still on.
    anyone know how to turn it off?

    It's in the owners manual... can't remember what page. Do a search for it here and you'll find it.

    i did a search in the prius c thread and ntohing came up. i found it in other threads tho but im not sure it will work...

    Reset the maintenance data (U.S.A. only)
    After the required maintenance is performed according to the maintenance
    schedule, please reset the maintenance data.
    To reset the data, follow the procedures described below:
    Vehicles without a smart key system
    Switch the display to the odometer (P. 188) and then turn the
    engine switch off.
    Vehicles with a smart key system
    Switch the display to the odometer (P. 188) and then turn the
    “POWER” switch off.
    Vehicles without a smart key system
    Turn the engine switch to the “ON” position. The multi-information
    display's initial screen will be displayed for a few seconds. While the
    initial screen is being displayed, press the “TRIP” steering switch
    (P. 186) 3 times, pressing and holding the switch on the third
    time.
    Vehicles with a smart key system
    Turn the “POWER” switch to ON mode. The multi-information display's
    initial screen will be displayed for a few seconds. While the
    initial screen is being displayed, press the “TRIP” steering switch
    (P. 186) 3 times, pressing and holding the switch on the third
    time.
    Continue to press and hold the button until the trip meter displays

    all this does is zero out the trip

    don't think so all i have to do is hold the trip button in and it resets to 0

    Are you starting the procedure by first selecting the odometer on the display, rather than Trip A or Trip B? It won't work otherwise.

    I apologize for doubting you. you are correct - your instructions worked perfectly.
    There are similar instructions in the manual, however it does not state to turn the vehicle OFF first. That is the trick.
    Thanks so much for your help. I printed your instructions and will keep them in the folder in the glove compartment.
