My last 4 tanks since I installed my 16" wheels & tires....

    4/15/12 409.6 miles 8.2 Gallons 50.0 mpg calculated

    4/25/12 423.6 miles 8.12 Gallons 52.2 mpg calculated

    5/7/12 473.3 miles 9.22 Gallons 51.3 mpg calculated

    5/18/12 503.7 miles 9.46 Gallons 53.6 mpg calculated

Not sure how much better I'd be getting with the stock 15" wheels & tires but I can't complain. Even my wife has been learning how to get better mpg while driving the Prius. :D

    15K service

Changed the oil and filter yesterday, and rotated the tires. 15,380 miles.
Next service is on the Dealer. Thinking of having the transaxle fluid flushed/changed at the 20K service. Dealer charges $170 for this. Is this a typical price?

The dash display is always inaccurate, showing better gas mileage than actual. For me it usually adds anywhere from 2.2-3.1 more mpg.
I go by my own manual calculations.

IMG_8643_1.JPG Still have 3 pips left, but fueling up "the fleet" (2 Prii (or is that 1 pair of Prii?) , 1 RX 300) tomorrow with $2.20 off "Fuelperks" at Giant Iggle.

Usually go 22 miles round trip daily to work then the normal stuff around town. Still 58.2 mpg for 620 miles ain't too shabby.

I still think the inclusion of the stop light time in the average mhp is the second most bone-head move in the Gen 3. The first is the VPNS.

When I fill I usually go to the next dollar amount after the first click. This time I went to $.50 because I knew from the last tank that I had added about $.40 - $.50 the last time I filled up.

Is there a way to delete a message after it has been posted?

the Prius made its first beep and the last bar started blinking when the trip odo read 625 miles and the remaining range was about 20 miles, at 650 miles the range was 0 miles but Flv hovered aroun .9 gallons left... stop refilling after the first click/auto shutoff.

    Wow, first off, great tank!

Second, I don't think I've ever seen 17 mph on a full tank like that before.

    Well done!

    Forgot to record avg speed

2 pips left on the MFD. This tank had a trip to the dealership on it for install of TRD performance springs. MFD was at 58.4 when I dropped it off, 55.2 when I picked it up. :(

Not bad with 17" rims and A/C use. :)

My avg 17 mph is mainly due to the regular traffic jams I must deal with.

Going to work I'm usually stuck in a mini-city traffic jam (5mph-25mph pulse&glides) which normally last 15 minutes(last 3 mile ) of my 15 mile commute going down hill.

Going home I'm usually stuck in a two mini-traffic jam (5mph - 15mph pulse&glides) the first lasting 20 minutes city traffic jam(3 miles long at the beginning of my trip) and the second one 10 minutes suburb bottleneck traffic jam (1 mile long about 4 miles from the end ) of my 15 mile commute going uphill.

These regular traffic jams are one of the reason I switched to a hybrid ( I wanted stop-idle/stop-start feature so I would not burn as much fuel as a regular car while stuck in traffic).
