Elon Musk has posted a new blog entry at The Mission of Tesla | Blog | Tesla Motors.

Market will probably take an initial hit as investors figure out if the added warrantee will affect bottom line.

Love that he requested a full NHTSA investigation, I hope the NHTSA does so.

Elon musk (from the linked article):
I think he missed another safety issue here. If the Model S is wrongly perceived as being less safe, people will be driving in cars which are actually less safe. So it is best if the NHTSA has as accurate a picture of the safety of all cars as possible, and that they make that knowledge public.

OK so now we have a response from Telsa.
Previous thread I said let's wait and hear Tesla's response.

This is a good solid response, with 3 steps
    1. Warranty clarification to cover fire
    2. Requesting NHTSA safety review
    3. Modification of height of car via air suspension (software update)
