Hi all and thanks for reading & responding.

I have just purchased my 2nd Prius, 2005 with salvage title. Dealer notes all Limited Warranties are void with salvage title, but Toyota says "except CARB California Emissions Warranty" which covers the HV-High Voltage-Auxilary-Traction Battery for 10 yrs and 150,000 miles if registered and operated in CARB state. This vehicle has always been registered in CA and has 107,000 miles.

12 Volt battery was dead and replaced. Codes include:
P0A0DHigh Voltage System Inter-Lock Circuit High
    P3000Battery Control System
    Possible Information Codes:
123 Input of abnormal signal from battery ECU (HV Battery System Malfunction)
124 Input of abnormal signal from battery ECU (high voltage fuse blown out)
388 Discharge Inhibition Control Malfunction. When charged battery is low due to leaving the vehicle in N position, gas shortage or HV system malfunction
389 Drop of high voltage. When main battery is dead or main battery is dead due to HV system malfunction
    P0A7F
    P3030Disconnection between Battery and ECU
    C0215Rear Speed Sensor LH Circuit
C1241Low Battery Positive Voltage or Abnormally High Battery Positive Voltage
    C1259HV System Regenerative Malfunction
    C1310HV System Malfunction
    C1313Open Circuit in Main Relay
    C1357Decreasing Pressure Solenoid (FL)
    C1377Capacitor
    C1532ECU Malfunction
    B1412Ambient Temperature Sensor Circuit
    B1421Solar Sensor Circuit (Passenger Side)
B1423Open in Pressure Sensor Circuit / Abnormal Refrigerant Pressure
    B1200Body ECU communication stop
    B1207Smart Key ECU Communication Stop
    B1271Combination Meter ECU Communication Stop
B2286Runable Signal (Cable-Information does not match to BEAN-Information)

    Battery Block Voltage
    V01 - 15.06

    V05 - 0.14
    V06 - 0.29

    V10 - 0.34
    V11 - 0.44
    V12 - 7.66
    V13 - 14.93
    V14 - 15.04
Battery State of Charge - 53.5%
    Delta SOC - 0.0%

It seems that seller let both batteries run down just before purchase. He said vehicle was running 3 weeks before sale.

Since READY will not come on, I understand a FTS or Field Technical Specialist must come from SF Bay Area (about 200 miles) to bring a special Toyota High Voltage Charger which will charge the Auxiliary or Traction battery from 15% to 50% in 3 hours with a target of 50%, as per the Toyota Service Manual or Tech Tip (sorry). And this will not be scheduled until "A Case has been Opened" by the Master Hybrid Diagnostic Technician. I have not yet been able to get a case opened at the Dealer in Fresno, CA. Current SOC is 53.5% but the battery is unbalanced with 8 of 14 modules less than 1 Volt. If the ICE will not charge the HV battery, which it will not until READY light comes on, only this HV Charger can be used to end the Catch 22.

I believe if charged, there is a chance that the HV battery may become balanced again. Otherwise it will have to be replaced. I also believe the HV battery may be covered by the CA Emission Warranty, although Service Managers believe ALL warranties are void on salvage vehicles. The determination will involve the extent to which the HV battery was damaged or abused vs. manufacturing defect.

Having read all posts, I find nothing about salvage titles and CARB warranties. Does anyone have experience with Toyota honoring Emission Warranty on vehicles with salvage title? Any suggestions on the codes above? Especially the HV codes P0A7F P3030 P0A0D P3000 ?

    Thank you!
