Does the PiP have traction battery sensors? If so, how many and how can they be monitored?

    It should have temperature sensors.

I was monitoring voltage and temperatures.. there were 3 temp sensors.. I'm not sure where the sensors were located though.. although I always imagined it was something like "front, middle, back" or something.. here's a sample from a while back

What are you trying to monitor?

The 2010 Prius battery temp sensors are located:

Sensor 1 - BT1 - right hand side closest to electronics and blower motor
    Sensor 2 - BT2 - middle (and usually hottest)
    Sensor 3 - BT3 - left hand side

I can monitor the temps with either SGII or Engine Link.

Someone with a PiP will have to chime in and note the differences.

2010 and PiP batteries are not compatible...
I do not know if it has been a brave soul that opened a PiP battery only to investigate it(n)

If I am not mistaken, the PiP battery has two parts. One part is very similar to the 2010 battery. The second part is the one that is different.

My apologies. The 2014 PiP specs indicate the traction battery is Lithium-ion. I think I am remembering the original PiP prototype.

A cool idea would be sensors on each cell, and when one cell goes bad, circuitry could isolate it, instead of disabling the whole bank, and when it goes in for service, only the bad cell could be replaced instead of the whole bank.

In a SAE article, it indicated that the pressure in the cells (perhaps module) was monitored as well.
