I cannot find/access Toyota part number and exact nomenclature of the
2101 undercarriage engine compartment cover or splash shield for the 2010 Prius.
Does anyone have the info. Tried and tried on Toyota web site for parts etc. and get nowhere.

Thanx to 'all' for the info and replies.
Want to use "Parts Geek" but item is "Out Of Stock".
    Haven't used them before;
Will try to see if I can place order to be on 'BackOrder' until it is again "IN STOCK". (???)

How did the new splash shield work out?

Live in San Francisco. 2010 Prius scrapes every time I back out of garage due to steep slope. Splash shield is damaged.

Also go on retreats once in a while that require driving down a 5 mile dirt road which with the low clearance of the car, a lot of scraping occurs.

Thanks. What did you end up using?

Not sure their part is 100% direct replacement per other threads on here.

Remember it is just a splash shield and not a skid plate;).

If you are scraping the ground, the splash shield won’t help much as it is only plastic. Any hard surface will damage it:(.

Can you change your approach into your driveway to avoid scraping or when you go on a retreat choose a different path or be out of ruts?

I can post a PDF with part numbers for the shield and the fasteners, later tonight. For me the first piece, right behind the painted bumper, took the most abuse: it hangs up on concrete curbs and wheel stops. I've just epoxied it up with Fiberglas mesh reinforcement, so far.

I'm still on my original minus oil change door. I just posted because someone wanted a cheaper than original replacement. I haven't heard of any fitment problem with the after market part.

How’s it running since the accident?

And it sounds like you have it:).

Does that mean you’re a 3 car household ?

There's not been a problem since the repairs, just bumper cover, left headlight and pulled the radiator support back where it belongs. Still a three car household, but I have the Lexus sold to my son so it's still "in the family", just hasn't picked it up yet. In Ky, there's no sales tax at time of transfer since it's father to son transfer.

Wow, thank you. All great questions. Can't change slope or approach. 4 unit building in San Francisco with shared garage. Neighbor of 27 years in building next door is 80 and parks so close that I have to exit using a 5 point turn. Life in San Francisco.

Have increase tire PSI to 40 per Luscious Garage to help some with clearance issue. Costco gives me stink-eye when I request 40 PSI but they are good about going ahead and doing it.

You got any boards you can store or carry? Might help ensure you get a little more clearance ;).

Or snap a pic and share and others may have a creative solution (y).

That would be wonderful. Thank you. You seem to have incredible practical sage advice on here.
You seem to understand that even though it is a splash guard, inevitably it also gets a lot of abuse.

I plan on using Luscious Garage here in SF for oil change/periodic maintenance. Any modifications I make will hopefully not make their job harder.

Tires are Cotsco's Prius Michelin variant from a few years ago that came with car when I bought it used 3 years ago. Still have tread life. Open to suggestions for next tire purchase that might help with clearance problem. Like to keep things as simple as possible. Fixed income. Not into pimping my ride - more into getting from point a to b reliably and economically.

I have herniated disks and long term back pain - otherwise I'd attempt routine maintenance like you do. So in awe. I used to do with my 67 VW Bug. With the "idiot manual" for that car, I was able to fix things, replace clutch cable, etc without fear of mucking things up.

Here's that pdf. If you read through it carefully, all the fastener part numbers are in there too.

I'm the only one doing oil changes on ours, two a year since purchase in fall 2010, and I take the full panel off each time, never just bend back the local flap at oil pan. Also wash out the plastic fasteners with hot/soapy water. This floats the grit out, grit that can jam them, cause breakage.

Be careful. Its way cheaper to pull them from a clonked out Prius in the scrap yard then to get raped by the dealer. They are very expensive for the low benefit. I know the benefit is there but plastic shouldn't cost that much. Pretty easy to find a rear ended prius and pull the plastics for 40 bucks.

Thanks for the TSB. Will check to see if my cover is of the older variety. It's great to have a part list. Also fan of junk yards for pulling parts.

Any info on your repair/reinforcement with epoxy/fiberglass mesh? Sounds light weight and durable. I'd rather fix/reinforce what I have rather than replace if it's not too difficult. Great advice about cleaning and saving bolts.
