I guess I hadn't thought about the chrome piece being part of the fog light grill. Hmm, I'll be following this thread as fog lights are on my TODO list.

Out of curiosity, how do you propose to power the fog lamps? Is there a switch on your light stalk like in the Advanced?

Most of the guys in the Mods & Accessories forum all use a switch mounted in one of the open spaces by your left knee, where the power mirror controls are. I'm not sure about the factory Toyota fog light kit, but the ones many of the guys here use (off of eBay), come with the switch.

I'm 100% sure that the plugin base Prius has a fog light relay. I know this because of the techstream software, the software allows to trigger the relay and you can distinctly hear a "click" of the relay and a dashboard light on the fog lights show up. I purchased the grill and installed it. Unfortunately, I rushed to it because I wasn't happy with a fog lights Toyota was selling, so I purchased a pair of projector fog lamps to put hids in. Obviously the the projectors benefit is that they have a clear cutoff which can be adjusted. Although, My Es has led fog lamps from factory which have a cut off shield rather than a projected. I will try my best to integrate the factory relay and factory computers as much as possible, rather than to just have a button in the empty sockets and power going to them from the inverter. The primary benefit from that will be the fog lamp light on the dash will be illuminated when the relay is triggered. I would like to do a nice write up and maybe even assemble a kit with the wire harnesses and extras in one package; If enough people are interested.

I am very interested in putting fog lights on my plug in's. Been doing research and trying to locate good quality fog lights. Also read that a switch from a Yaris would mount in blank location by mirror switch.. Wish Prius shop would sell kit.

Well it sounds like that makes 3 of us. I've been researching also but not the lighting. I have recently found a dealer that has quoted me $160 for the PIP grill for fog lights. I would be interested to hear the results of your findings with the lighting.
