I know that the 2nd gen's HID lamps were known for low reliability. Does anyone here have an actual (or heard of) failures of LED headlights used since 2010 MY?
Good question. I was a bit apprehensive about the HIDs in my 2007, but they gave me no problems for the years I had the car. I'm 40 months with the 2010 and no problems with the LEDs.
Good to know. Our 2010 Canadian Touring model has the LED headlights. We've just passed uh... 27000 km's, LOL. No problems.
Good to know. At least on some Cadillacs, HIDs are standard and LEDs were upgrades. I don't think light output is the "upgrade" I am hoping reliability is.
No idea how the system cost compares. I would put my LEDs above halogen, about the same as reflector HIDs (old Maxima, Acura TL), but still below that of a good set of projector HIDs (BMW, Audis)
One thing: the manual tells owners with LED headlights needing replacement to take it to the dealer, no DIY instruction.
