Replaced headlights, now only brights

My passenger side headlight was very intermittent, so looking up the problem, I purchased two Phillips D2R Xenon HID Headlight Bulbs for my 2005 Prius (mine has the navigation system, so HID). I watched the available videos and followed the instructions I found online. Though the replacements did not go anywhere near as easily as shown or described, I finally got both bulbs replaced. HOWEVER, when I turned them on, I now only have brights, no regular beams. What did I do wrong? What should I do? Help! I need to be able to drive my car!
