This color looks WAY better on the 2010 than any gold prior.

It's a practical choice. It's light enough that if you live in a very hot climate (like me), the interior doesn't feel like it's blazing after sitting in a parking lot all day and scratches and dirt don't show up well at all. My wife picked driftwood when we bought our 2005, and her first choice is sandy beach for the '10 we're getting in a couple of months, but she's also interested in the winter grey if it isn't too dark.

Our Prius V. Sandy Beach Metallic arrived Friday. Been waiting since mid January, when we first saw them. Wish it'd gotten here sooner as our family is no longer in agreement on the purchase, as of this morning. As tempting as making a unilateral decision is, well, I know better. So if you're near the Flathead Valley MT, be my guest. I'm going to have to call the dealer in the morning.

Are you saying that other family members don't like the color you chose, or just don't like the car? That's a disappointment.

Maybe it's semantics. I also liked the tideland pearl but it wasn't one of the available colors when I got my 2006. I'd love to get a color like that.

Great video. I ordered a Sandy Beach Metallic in either II, III, or IV trims. My major worry is the Back seat big and comfy enough for my 90 yr old parents- and will it carry picnic stuff for 4 people. All the articles and sites never seem to show a person in the back seat. I did consider a Jetta TDI wagon- but the reliablity is a ?.

That is a total bummer. I just called Kalispell Toyota. I hope I didn't step on your toes.

Thought I'd try to get a picture that showed the slight glitter effect you see if you are close to the car. Didn't quite succeed, but these pics sort of show it.

Yup, I can still see the glitter. It's really hard to make champagne/beige/gold cars with a metallic effect.

I love this color for the Prius, seems to class it up a bit. I've been waiting two weeks for one to come into two different dealers, but the lease terms are so bad for the 2010, it's hardly worth it (.0285 MF, $16500 residual).

I had the opportunity to see the Sandy Beach a couple of weeks ago and the 2009 Driftwood happen to be sitting a car over from it. I admit don't usually favor gold/beige/tan/bisque but the Sandy Beach was quite a bit sharper looking in person. The older rendition of the color was not at all sharp and was on the blah side when it was next to the Sandy Beach (strictly my opinion and not meant to offend those Driftwood owners). The version I saw was a Package 2 and cloth is not my preference. I love leather and thought the bisque leather I saw on a Blizzard Pearl V a few weeks back looked sharp.

I saw a Winter Grey/Misty Gray leather interior on a 2010 Prius IV. The Winter Grey was dark. Too dark for my taste. I went with a Classic Silver Met./Misty Gray leather interior. My second choice was Sandy Beach Met/Bisque leather interior. I got my 1st choice.

I appreciate the effort. I can see the glitter . . . looks great! For this color, it is crucial IMO, that effect, to keep the color from looking dull. Thanks again!

I agree. the Winter Grey is too dark for me as well. The silver, though overwhelmingly common, quite frankly, looks very good. But having come from two Silver cars in a row, I am looking for something different, so Sandy Beach (with it's much brighter look) became my first preference . . . with Barcelona Red in second. Talk about extremes!
