    Hi all.

Does anyone know if you can set this option using OBDII and Torque/ELM Terminal? I used to have this setting on my old Merc. where when you pulled away and got over 10mph, all the doors would look. I feel much safer having that enabled and I'd rather avoid going to the dealer for them to try and rip me off by charging for this.

    Any help/guidance would be appreciated.

Check your operators manual. On my 2010 Prius, I was able to delete the auto door lock when moving feature by just manipulating drivers controls as shown in the op manual. Selecting that feature should be as easy using the same controls.

Sorry, forgot to say that the car is a UK version from 2012. I found a list of customizations online but my manual has much less options and the speed lock one isn't listed.
I have found instructions that require you to set the gear position and hold lock button etc so I'll try that first. I hope that this feature is available on my car....

I don't believe the UK or Euro spec Prii have the option. I asked my dealer if it was a hidden option on their computer so they could switch it on for me (helps in a cab - don't want mugging at the traffic lights) but there isn't one.

Same as DRL's on the pre-2012 Prii. The Canadian versions and some Euro versions have it, but that too can't be just switched on by the dealers as it requires an extra wiring loom.

That's weird isn't it? It seems a simple feature to include considering all the other fancy bits in the car. Must be a configuration nightmare at Toyota factories having to make all these different variants.
Oh well, it'll have to be manual locking from here on in.
Thanks for all the replies chaps.

    Possibly this video might help
    Luther Owners Manual |
    Go to select a video.
    Choose 2012 Toyota Prius
In the drop down "select a video" box. In the "topic" drop down box, choose " vehicle settings"( near the bottom of the list) and play video.

One of the first things they cover is turning the auto door lock feature on / off.
This is the US version, but it might work on your UK Prius.

Funny, that is one thing I hate about cars that do it. Disabled on all our Lexus vehicles before we got off the lot. But then again I am a crazy Canadian and don't even lock my house. It is much nicer to live in peace than in fear. ;)

i would loved to have this feature.. speed detecting door lock..
Any idea how i can do that
now my car is a JDM... and it seems it does not have these feature. When i connect OBD2 under customization it shows some items including revers beep, seatbelt beep etc.. but this feature is not seem to be available.
Also.. I tried pressing drivers door panel buttons in recommended combinations, even it would not come to work with shifting to & from Parking.

Since i fixed the autofolding mirror, i know where to tap door lock signal
    and it seems the seat belt beep has the speed sensing beep;

can this two be combined in a way to make this happen.. I'm thinking; then how?

It's been tried and failed in the past. The JDM and European Prius's are different to the US versions and can't easily be made to auto lock. You might be the first to solve the issue, but at what financial cost?

I repeatedly tried to shut off the stupid automatic locking, using the door panel switch, exactly as described in the owner's manual, as best I could interpret it. That didn't work. Anybody have a clue what step I missed, or is it really impossible?

What you meant is combining this two signals has been tried and failed?
In which forum was it discussed?

Carista app and obd2 adapter will do it.

    Hi dnldcs
Thanks for the info about carista.
Is there a chance it can show this feature even if its not showing with techstream (which I have tried)
So I was assuming that feature is not available in my car.
Then any idea where can I download windows app of carista.

I am not sure, I can tell you that the Carista app is free for android and Apple devices, and it will "scan" your car and tell you the options available for change, which for mine was speed locks. If it is available for yours you can then purchase the pro version to actually make the change or find a "hacked" app which will allow you to circumvent the in-app purchase. I am not aware of Carista having a Windows app. Hope this helps.

I'm in Australia and, from experience with Gen2 Prius, if it won't work in UK, it won't work in Aus. Just downloaded Carista to try the door auto locking, but no go (Gen3).

So don't think will be available in UK either.
