Is is possible to switch a factory radio with one with a 6 disc changer from a salvage prius? There are some good deals on eBay and I would like the ability to have a changer while still keeping the MP3 function. Also, I use CoastalETech's Lockpick 3 and a factory XM radio. Any problems? Sorry if its been asked before, but I did try searching for it for awhile. Thanks!
Assuming that you have the basic stereo 1-CD installed, the question is, can you do a brain transplant with a more advanced, salvaged head unit? I investigated this and even asked one of the more competent Prius mod shops if they would do it for me. Their reply was that this was not worth doing, in part because you need a different harness for the more advanced head unit. They also said that this is one of the most frequently asked questions they get.
