Thanks to a post over at CHAdeMO adapter frustration (adapter coming winter 2013) - Page 39, a CHAdeMO adapter is coming this winter for the Model S!

It's listed at Shop Tesla Gear — CHAdeMO Adapter.

    Take that, Frankenplug!

When that becomes available, the world's most popular and 2nd most popular BEV (both of which have optional DC fast charging) will be able to use the most widely deployed DC FC standard with somewhere over 3073 stations (
    CHAdeMO Association
    ).

On that note, the first publicly accessible Frankenplug station in the US recently opened in San Diego (First SAE Combo fast charging station now open in San Diego). Too bad no cars that can use it will be available until December (Spark EV w/optional J1772 CCS). BMW i3 w/its optional REx engine won't be available in the US until 2Q 2014.
