Toyota to make plug-ins standard for Prius from 2014-Nikkei

    Aha! that's what I thought! Li atomic weight is 6.941 due to isotope composition (only 7.5% is Li-6, rest is Li-7).

    So it is actually 6.94*2/(6.94*2+12+16*3) = 5.32x or 34,598$, not including processing. Glad it is cleared up, we both screw it up.

    Oops, I did in fact use the atomic number rather than the mass of Li. My bad.

    Phew. :cool:

    Nevertheless, Li-ion chemistry does not deplete on a time basis "so quickly" like our NimH does. It would need some weeks/months to make it happen in a potential consequence.
    I feel that the current PHV test cars do have 2 out of 3 submitted to the widest range of SOC for that purpose: testing only.
